As Always
The rain falls as it always does,
Chaotically calculated and cold,
A heavy portent of an icy winter.
You wake me with gentle kisses
And we listen to Bach and reminisce
About that time we went to the beach.
Your feet are cold as always, and
As always, you sap the warmth from me,
Two soles pressed firm against my back.
Oh, how I wish I were your heatsink—
Always, always, always.
