Okay, I’m sick of writing blog posts that get attention from music blog. Heh. No offense, of course, I’m very grateful, but it’s just too formal and stuffy, you know? I’d rather write a blog about how I made hamburgers and fries last night for dinner!
Let me preface this by saying I don’t cook. I reheat things. I am the typical bachelor guy who buys frozen pizzas, and I lived for a year and a half with other guys who did the same thing. So the idea of making a meal for other people, in a word, frightens me. What if it’s undercooked? What if it tastes like shit? What if they hate it so much that they throw it in my face like some kind of medieval show of hatred?
Well last night was my night to cook, and fortunately my brother and sister-in-law understood my fears and sympathized and helped me cook a bit. And this was the result:
The patties were frozen store-bought (and not ground beef from the deli, unfortunately). The fries were homecut. The fry sauce is an interesting mixture of mayo, ketchup, mustard, pepper, and buffalo wing sauce. It was tangy, to say the least.
This in no way makes me less afraid of cooking. I mean, it’s hamburgers for Chrissakes.
But it’s a start!
So, to you, gentle readers, a question: What’s your favorite simple recipe? Mac & cheese with cut up hot dogs? Mashed potatoes and veggies? A giant ball of lard? I am curious!
I also kind of wish we had more burgers — the Packers play tonight and burgers’n'fries seems perfect… Oh well.

You should’ve taken the extra step and made a McPizza: http://media.tumblr.com/timsiOie4g3vhf10TTcEeablo1_500.jpg
Maybe next time
Favorite simple recipe to eat: Danny’s super ramen. You’ll have to get the lowdown from him.
Favorite simple recipe to make: hmm…. salad greens with ripped up veggie burger on top. Just finished eating that, in fact.
